PAES Lab
We are committed to empowering students with special needs by equipping educators with the tools necessary to foster meaningful post-secondary success. The FMV Foundation started the PAES Lab at the Deer Park Union Free School District.
The PAES Lab provides a structured, hands-on environment where students engage in real-world vocational, educational, and independent living experiences. Our mission is to ensure that every student’s future is guided by appropriate and measurable post-secondary goals, built upon comprehensive transition assessments. By bridging the gap between education and life beyond the classroom, we help students achieve greater independence, confidence, and success.
Unified Basketball & Bowling Teams at Deer Park UFSD
Following the success of this initiative, we also proudly support the Unified Bowling Team, further expanding athletic opportunities for students of all abilities. Unified Sports, recognized by Section XI Sports, integrates athletes with and without disabilities, fostering teamwork, sportsmanship, and school spirit in a competitive yet fun setting.
Through our continued support, we aim to promote inclusion, build confidence, and ensure that every student has the opportunity to experience the joy of sports.
Tanger Outlets Yearly Shopping Spree
Each year, The FMV Foundation proudly hosts a special Annual Shopping Spree at Tanger Outlets in Deer Park, New York, designed for students in the DPUFSD life-skills programs. This heartwarming initiative provides students with an opportunity to enjoy a fun-filled day of shopping, movies, and lunch, all while practicing essential real-world skills.
From budgeting and making purchases to social interaction and independence, this experience fosters confidence and joy in a supportive environment. The day is more than just a shopping trip—it’s a celebration of personal growth, community engagement, and unforgettable memories!
Through this initiative, we aim to empower students by providing hands-on learning experiences that prepare them for their futures while ensuring they have a fantastic time.
Frost Buddies Program
We proudly support the Frost Buddies program, an enriching afterschool initiative designed for students with special needs. This program provides a safe and engaging environment where children can participate in arts and crafts, fun activities, and interactive experiences that foster creativity and social skill development. By encouraging meaningful connections and hands-on learning, Frost Buddies plays a vital role in helping children build confidence, friendships, and essential life skills.
Deer Park Senior Awards
Scholarship Initiative – Each year, our foundation proudly awards scholarships at the Deer Park Senior Awards, to graduating seniors with special needs who aspire to attend college. We believe in fostering opportunities for all students to pursue higher education, empowering them to achieve their dreams and build a bright future. Through this initiative, we aim to provide both financial support and encouragement as they take the next step in their academic journey.
Long Island Junior Soccer League Scholarship Program
Our foundation is proud to support student-athletes through the Long Island Junior Soccer League Scholarship. Each year, we award scholarships to graduating seniors who have demonstrated a commitment to both academic success and community service. To qualify, applicants must have played in the Long Island Junior Soccer League and have actively mentored or assisted children with special needs. This scholarship recognizes students who embody the values of leadership, inclusivity, and dedication—both on and off the field—as they take the next step in their educational journey.
College Internship Program (CIP)
We have funded the (CIP) program that is designed to support high school juniors and seniors with special needs who aspire to attend college. Through this initiative, students gain firsthand experience in a college environment by sitting in on courses, staying in dormitories, and learning essential budgeting skills for meals and daily expenses. By providing this immersive experience, CIP helps students develop the confidence and independence needed to transition seamlessly from high school to higher education.
